DR. KHALIL IBUPOTO VISITS THE ACADEMIC BLOCK   

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur paid a visit of new Academic Block constructed under the Strengthening of Academic Facilities (SAF) Project funded by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto narrated that we are committed to provide the modern facilities to the students in order to get quality education with excellence. Dr. Ibupoto advised the Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Imdad Hussain Sahito and Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar to convene a meeting with the concerned Heads of the Department of Allotment Committee to a lot the space for Departments at earliest on the basis of mutual consensus and cooperation so the process of allotment and shifting be made without any delay.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ibupoto also visited the security spots of the University to oversee the security arrangements to beef up the security apparatus and directed the Chief Security Officer to remain vigil on every spot.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hassan Khaskheli, Chairman Department of Biochemistry, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Director Media & P.R, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Noonari, Director Finance, Engr. DR. KHALIL IBUPOTO CHAIRS VARIOUS MEETINGS AT UNIVERSITY   

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur chaired meetings of Campus Management Cell and Plantation & Beautification Cell at Vice Chancellor Secretariat.

Dr. Khalil Ibupoto while talking to the participants of the meeting said that the establishment of Campus Management Cell is aimed at to bring transparency, restoration of working relationship among the various sections and to get the progress from the different sections. Dr. Ibupoto remarked that my patronage and support is always with you. We are heading toward positive direction. There is need of collaborative coordination among the all sections. He said that the Campus Management Cell will be solely monitored by the Registrar office, all the administrative sections i.e. Administrative Officers, Project Director (Works), I.T Manager and Director Technical will work under the umbrella of this Cell.

During the meeting, it was resolved that the small work of repair and maintenance will be carried out by the Administrative Officers while the major work will be carried out with the help of the Project Director (Works) by floating tenders. It was resolved that the stock entry will be maintained properly. The Administrative Officers will embark the repair and maintenance work within the limit of Rs. 50,000/- while the exceeding amount Rs. 50,000/-, the repair and maintenance work will be referred to the Engineering Wing. The Director Technical will cover the leakages of Sui Gas Lines and will resolve this issue within 20 days of time. Administrative Officer (Colony) will assist Director Technical in this work. All Administrative Officers will report the problem which pertains to the Registrar.

Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Engr. Ghulam Mujtaba Abbasi, Engr. Ghulam Asghar Shaikh, Engr. Faiz Muhammad Shaikh, Mr. Khalil-ur-Rehman Shaikh and others attended the meeting.  

Meanwhile, meeting of the Plantation & Beautification Cell was also convened. Mr. Rashid Ali Amur, Incharge Plantation & Beautification Cell apprised the Vice Chancellor that the Campus Beautification Plan is underway, the trimming of trees has been completed. Seeds have been received as sponsored by the various organizations including Forest Department for beautification purpose. He told that beds have been prepared for sapling, cleanliness of the campus has been completed. Flower Exhibition will be organized in the month of the March. In addition to this, new plants will be planted at the Academic Block and other new buildings.

Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto commended the efforts of Incharge Plantation & Beautification Cell for taking timely steps to beautify the campus. Dr. Ibupoto stressed the need to make the campus as environment friendly.

MEETING OF DEANS COMMITTEE HELD AT SALU

A Meeting of Deans Committee was held at Vice Chancellor Secretariat, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor regarding meeting held with Chairman Higher Education Commission, Islamabad via Video Link.

At the out set of the meeting, Prof. Dr.  Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto briefed the participants of the meeting about the decisions of the Chairman HEC, Islamabad to adhere strict SOPs to control the pandemic of COVID-19 at campuses. Dr. Khalil Ibupoto said that it is our collective responsibility to control the spread of COVID-19 at the campus and conduct online classes in befitting manner in the wake of pandemic.

The Vice Chancellor remarked that in view of the prevailing apprehension of COVID-19 resurgence, we have to implement the required SOPs assertively and effectively and prevent any outbreak of pandemic on the campus. Dr. Khalil Ibupoto narrated that fumigations campaign has been launched at the campus, testing of COVID-19 had been carried out to ascertain the cases of COVID-19 with the help of the District Health Office, Khairpur.



After detailed deliberations, it was decided that every teacher, student and staff in the Teaching Departments will wear the face mask, Thermo guns and Walkthrough Thermo gates will be installed at the main entrances of the each Faculty with sanitizer. The Deans of the concerned Faculty will monitor the entire process of SOPs. Social Distance will be maintained properly at the classrooms. The District Health Officer will be requested to conduct the process of testing on war footing at the campus.

It was also decided that The Directors, Chairmen/Incharges will remain bound for the proper conduct of online classes. The progress report of the classes will be sent to the worthy Vice Chancellor. The Deans will conduct meetings with their Directors, Chairmen/Incharges regarding online classes and matter pertains to academic excellence. In future the teachers training will be conducted at the Students Societies Centre Building for the capacity building of the teachers. After 15 days of interval, a meeting of the Deans Committee will be convened chaired by the worthy Vice Chancellor.

MR. MURTAZA NOOR CALLS ON VICE CHANCELLOR

Mr. Murtaza Noor, National Coordinator, Interuniversity Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences called on Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur at Vice Chancellor Secretariat.

Mr. Murtaza Noor apprised the Vice Chancellor that this consortium is solely promoting the soft image of the social sciences countrywide. He briefed that with the help of USAID, a state-of-art building will be constructed at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur within short span of time in the name of Student Societies Centre Building. This is first ever USAID building being constructed at SALU. He suggested the Vice Chancellor that a course on tolerance may be started in the Department of Teacher Education, Institute of I.R, Institute of Islamic Studies and Department of Media & Communication Studies as pilot project with the support of Interuniversity Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences as collaborative work to sensitize the students. Moreover, trainings for Faculty Members will be organized with the help of this consortium.

Mr. Murtaza Noor also suggested the Vice Chancellor to ink the Memorandum of Understanding with Government College University, Lahore and The Islamia University, Bahawalpur for the youth engagements.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto commended the contribution of Interuniversity Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences especially the role of USAID to establish this centre at our premises. Dr. Ibupoto remarked that I am determined for change and development. We will extend full cooperation to this consortium. He urged that activity plan for the construction of building including check list be prepared and periodic visits may be conducted to assure the quality of the construction work. Dr. Ibupoto assured Mr. Murtaza Noor that we will ink Memorandum of Understanding with Government College University, Lahore and The Islamia University, Bahawalpur for the youth engagements.  

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the aforesaid project building was convened chaired by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto to review the project in detail.
