A meeting of the various Conveners and Chairmen of Additional Charges was held on Thursday November 26, 2020 at Vice Chancellor Secretariat, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor chaired the meeting.

Talking to the participants of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto narrated that prime objective of this consultative meeting aimed at to foster the coordination and to work with the spirit of team work and to maintain close linkage between the different sections and streamline the various offices to get the progress from these sections effectively. He said, we are committed to provide the genuine facilities to the students and staff within limited resources.

Dr. Ibupoto said, it is our collective responsibility to assist mutually and collectively to build the soft image of the Institution. Dr. Ibupoto emphasized that each section may work efficiently and effectively according to modern lines. The progresses of the various sections were reviewed thoroughly.


The participants of the meeting assured the Vice Chancellor that they will render their additional charges according to University Code and in the better interest of the students and staff without any unprecedented delay with diligently.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur paid a visit of Ghotki Campus of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on Wednesday November 25, 2020. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Zia Shah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Ghotki Campus cordially welcomed the Vice Chancellor on his arrival at campus.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor appreciated the untiring efforts of Prof. Dr. Maqsood Zia Shah for his valuable contribution in the academic development and physical maintenance of the campus. Dr. Ibupoto emphasized on the research and practical skills to be delivered to the students for their practical knowledge. The Vice Chancellor assured the Pro-Vice Chancellor that with the mutual efforts, the pending issue of Land acquisition will be resolved to acquire the land for the extension of Ghotki campus so the other market oriented disciplines may be started.


Dr. Ibupoto directed the Campus Pro-Vice Chancellor to submit a comprehensive justification for the appointment of regular Faculty inline with the PC-I of the campus at earliest to mitigate the shortage of Faculty Members.

During the visit, the Vice Chancellor visited extensively the Classrooms, Library and Digital Labs and interacted with the students and faculty members. He felt his entire satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Campus Administration and also appreciated the cognitive efforts taken by the Pro-Vice Chancellor in adhering the SOPs of COVID-19 in true spirit in order to control the pandemic situation in the wake of resurgence of COVID-19.

Earlier, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Zia Shah, Pro Vice Chancellor Ghotki Campus briefed the Vice Chancellor about the available academic facilities for students. In the end, he maintained that we are imparting quality education to the students of remote areas of this region belongs to below poverty line. Dr. Shah presented traditional gifts to the guests as gesture of good will.

During the visit, Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar, Mr. Imran Ali Soomro, P.S to Vice Chancellor, Faculty Members and Officers of Campus were present.

COVID-19 AWARENESS WORKSHOP AND HAND WASHING ACTIVITY HELD

A One-Day COVID-19 Awareness Workshop and Hand Washing Activity was held at Model School Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur organized by Pakistan Biological Biosafety Association (PBSA). Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar of the University was the chief guest on this occasion.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto thanked PBSA team for conduct workshop in Model school. He said that Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto has already issued the directions for proper following of COVID-19 SOPs as directed by the Governments.

Mr Amjad Ali Mughal, Focal Person PBSA briefed the participants about the role and functions of PBSA. He said that PBSA is non government organization which is working in various biohazards lab, biological labs in Pakistan. Mr. Amjad thanked the Vice Chancellor for extending his cooperation in organizing this workshop in Model School.

Mr Inam Ali Larik delivered brief lecture on Corona Virus spread, precautions and told the audience that how people could save from COVID-19.

Mr Majid Ali Maitlo delivered lecture on proper Hand Washing Activity and he practically perform that how hands properly washed to save from various microorganisms.

Madam Ghazala Principal Model School paid vote of thanks to all PBSA team, Vice Chancellor and Registrar.

In the end, face masks, hand sanitizers, hand wash and certificates were distributed among the organizers and participants of the workshop.

PH.D OPEN DEFENSE SEMINAR HELD IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PAKISTAN
STUDIES
Ph.D Open Defense Seminar was held in the Department of Pakistan Studies, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto.

Research Scholar Mr. Inayatullah Bhatti, Assistant Professor, Department of Pakistan Studies defended his research work on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Perspective of Terrorism: An Analysis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Imdad Hussain Sahito, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences. Mr. Inayatullah Bhatti said that this mega project is a game changer for South Asian Geo Politics, the cost of this project is US$ 62 billion. He said this investment project aimed at to transform Pakistan’s infrastructure and economy and facilitate bilateral trade. While delivering his presidential address, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said Pakistan has strong geo-strategic position in South Asia. This research work is a new dimension. Dr. Ibupoto said terrorism is a main obstacle in the way of peace, solidarity, and prosperity of the region. Referring the significance of one belt one road initiative, the different regions will be connected to foster the proximity between the various countries of the region. Dr. Ibupoto suggested that Dean Faculty of Social Sciences to prepare a PC-I for the establishment of CPEC Centre at University. We are optimistic that we will avail appropriate funds from the donors to accomplish this dream. He said I want to improve this University in all corners striving day and night for its soft image, he added.


Prof. Dr. Imdad Hussain Sahito said that incumbent Vice Chancellor is taking his keen interest for the promotion of research culture because he is a visionary Vice Chancellor. Dr. Sahito said Pakistan remained a target of India and other countries in order to destabilize the economy and peace of the country. It is misconception that Pakistan will be converted as East India Company with the influence of China.


Prof. Dr. Aftab Ahmed Gillani, Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies, The Islamia University Bahawalpur and Dr. Farooque Ahmed, Professor Department of Pakistan Studies, Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan also spoke on this occasion and lauded the research work presented by the scholar. They appreciated the research methodology, recommendations put forwarded by the scholar. They said, it would be good contribution on CPEC.


Prof. Dr. Tajnees Pirzada, Director, Postgraduate Studies conducted the proceedings of the seminar. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Director Quality Enhancement Cell, Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar and a large number of teachers, research scholars attended the Public Defense. The Public Defense was declared as successful.
