The Inaugural Ceremony of All Pakistan Inter-University Table Tennis (Girls) Championship was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by the Sports Section of SALU in collaboration with Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Prof. Dr. Ghulam Raza Bhatti, Vice Chancellor of The Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur jointly inaugurated the event.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur remarked that co-curricular activates are very essential in order to promote the sense of competition, courage and confidence. It is matter of high rejoice for me today 19 Universities across the country are participating in the three-day mega sports event.

Dr. Ibupoto accorded special thanks to Prof. Dr. Ghulam Raza Bhatti for sparing his precious time to grace the inaugural ceremony.


Prof. Dr. Ghulam Raza Bhatti, Vice Chancellor of The Shaikh Ayaz University, Shikarpur said sports activities are integral part of academic activities because without sports activism, the life of the students is nothing as result, their role remained not proactive at the campus life. It is healthy sign that a large number of female students are participating in this event.

Dr. Bhatti lauded the efforts of Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for the soft image building of the Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Dr. Bhatti narrated that a sizeable number of the students of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and The Shaikh Ayaz University, Khairpur are rendering abroad. He said, he has delivered at this Alma mater in various capacities significantly.

Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ali Junejo, Chairman, Sports welcomed the guests and shed light on the achievements of his Section. He said this Section is rendering tremendous services in the uplifting the sports culture at the campus.

It is recalled that the teams of 19 Universities including University of Management Sciences & Technology, Lahore, Islamia University, Bahawalpur, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women University, Quetta, University of Karachi, University of Punjab, Lahore, Lahore College of Women University, Lahore, IBA, Karachi, University of Central Punjab, Lahore, Fatima Jinnah University, Rawalpindi, University of Superior, Lahore, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Iqra University, Karachi, University of Lahore, Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Khuwaja Fareed University, Rahim Yar Khan, Agriculture University, Faisalabad, Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMS), Jamshoro and host Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur are participating in this Championship.

A large number of teachers, officers, employees and students attended the inaugural ceremony.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur distributed Laptops among 15 differently abled and physically challenged students of the various Departments and Institutes of University under Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme in the presence of Mr. Manzoor Ali Rind, Technical Monitoring Officer, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad.

Speaking to the differently abled students, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said your abilities are matchless and energetic for the pursuit of higher education despite physically challenge. God has given more wisdom for you people in your personality. The Vice Chancellor commended the initiative taken by the Government of Pakistan and HEC, Islamabad to provide the laptops among the differently abled students. This facility will equip the students while pursuing their education on modern lines.

Dr. Ibupoto advised the Laptops recipients to divert your energies for the pursuit of knowledge based education, research and innovation for the betterment of the country and nation.

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Maqsood Zia Shah, Pro-Vice Chancellor Ghotki Campus and Focal Person of Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar, Mr. Imran Ali Soomro and others were present.

The Institute of Business Administration, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized Annual Tree Plantation Ceremony. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur was the chief guest on this occasion, while Prof. (Retd.) Shah Muhammad Luhrani, Former Dean Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration was the guest of honor. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto along with Prof. (Retd.) Shah Muhammad Luhrani and Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari jointly planted a sapling of indigenous tree in the premises of the Institute.

Talking to the participants of the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said trees and flowers are the indigenous beauty of the nature. With the help of trees we can provide friendly environment at the campus as result the scorching, sizzling and humid temperature could be minimize. In addition to trees, the flowers are major source of fragrance and beauty and attract the human and to create a good mood and reduces stress and anxiety. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of Dr. Minhhon Khan Laghari for organizing this event on regular basis along with his team of Faculty Members. Dr. Ibupoto stressed the need to plant more saplings of trees at campus premises to control the pollution and promote the sense of friendly environment.

Prof. (Retd.) Shah Muhammad Luhrani also shed light on the importance of trees and flowers in our society. He said I am very happy that my mission is continued with the same spirit by my colleagues and the Director Institute. He said we must love with nature.

Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Director Institute of Business Administration briefed that beside academic commitment, we are also committed to promote the co-curricular activities within the institute to promote the positive and healthy activities so the students could follow our ideals.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided a Seminar on the theme “Let the City Go Green to think and Breath Clean” held at Sachal Auditorium, Khairpur organized by the Department of Economics, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur.

While delivering his presidential address, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that the purpose of this seminar aimed at to take the cognitive efforts for the green and clean the Khairpur city. He said we must pledge to take also concrete measures to control on environmental pollution.

The Vice Chancellor remarked that the trees are being chopped in our society, as result we have witnessed wide spread deforestation. It is recalled that Khairpur State remained green and clean in the advent of Khairpur Riasat. Dr. Ibupoto said it is our collective social responsibility to plant more saplings of trees for future generation. The Vice Chancellor said our students are talented, meritorious and well disciplined, he added.



Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Rahpoto, Chairman Department of Economics welcomed the participants of the seminar and shared the objectives of the seminar. He said this program will disseminate a soft message to the Civil Society and concerned Departments that a campaign may be launched for the awareness for the clean and green city.

A Rally was taken out from the Sachal Auditorium and it culminated at the Maryam Canon, Khairpur.
