PROF. DR. KHALIL AHMED IBUPOTO PRESIDED A MEETING WITH THE OFFICE BEARERS OF EMPLOYEES WELFARE ASSOCIATION

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided a meeting held with the office bearers of Employees Welfare Association (EWA) led by President Mr. Qalandar Bux Bozdar and General Secretary Mr. Muhammad Aslam Ghumro.

Speaking to the participants of the meeting, Dr. Khalil Ibupoto assured the office bearers of EWA that your genuine demands in view of charter of demand will be made after receiving the appropriate funds from the government. He said, I am answerable before Allah Almighty and strictly the affairs of the University will be run in accordance with the spirit of University Code and prevailing rules and regulations. He advised the representatives of EWA to extend their full cooperation in order to control the financial leakages because I have taken the charge of the Vice Chancellor in the interest of the Institution to bring structural changes and administrative reforms. My utmost priority is to release the salaries and pensions to the staff timely; I am striving to get the bailout package from the government in order to manage the recurring expenditure.

On this occasion, the President and General of EWA assured the Vice Chancellor that they will render their services in the interests of Institution and will cooperate the Vice Chancellor. They requested the Vice Chancellor that initiative may be taken for the automation of main sections of the University.

The Vice Chancellor assured them that efforts are underway to make the sections online in order to bring more transparency. Dr. Ibupoto advised the employees to work hard with diligently for the development of the Institution.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Director Media & Public Relations and Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, a briefing regarding the Strengthening of Academic Facilities (SAF) Project was also held. Engr. Ghulam Asghar Shaikh, project Director (Works) briefed the Vice Chancellor about the progress of the project. He said that Higher Education Commission, Islamabad earmarked Rs. 655.92 Million for the entire project. He briefed that 2300 students will be accommodated in the Academic Block building while 9 Teaching Departments will be housed there. In addition o this Academic Block, 200 Boys Hostel, Extension of Administration Block are also part of SAF project.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto felt entire satisfaction over the briefing presented by the Project Director (Works) and also commended the role of Higher Education Commission for approval of this Project. He said the Project will facilitate all the stakeholders of the University.

THE VICE CHANCELLOR CHAIRED THE MEETINGS WITH VARIOUS SECTIONAL HEADS OF UNIVERSITY

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur chaired various meetings convened with Director Finance, Controller of Examinations (Annual & Semester), Inspector of Colleges, Incharge Online System, Administrative Officers and Projects Director Works, Director Planning & Development, Director Technical and Executive Engineer Works.

Talking to the participants of the meetings, Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that the purpose of these meetings aimed at to streamline the working of the various sections and bring transparency and more efficiency for the public delivery and soft image of the University.

On this occasion, the Director Finance Mr. Nisar Ahmed Noonari briefed the Vice Chancellor that an eligibility fee at the Law Colleges is due and same is in pending.

The Controller of Examinations Mr. Ghulam Shabbir Phupoto apprised the Vice Chancellor that there is close liaison with I.T Manager, Director Finance and Inspector of Colleges to recover the eligibility fees.

The Inspector of Colleges Mr. Nazir Ahmed Mangnejo briefed the Vice Chancellor that prior conduct of examinations, the list of eligible candidates of Law Colleges may be provided by the Controller of Examinations Office.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto directed the concerned Sectional Heads that prior conduct of examinations, proper documents related to the examinations be checked after clearance regarding payment of eligibility fees and enrollment fees. The slips be issued to the appearing candidates. Dr. Ibupoto also directed the Inspector of Colleges to convene meetings with the concerned Principals of Law Colleges. Dr. Ibupoto announced to establish the Examinations Cell headed by Vice Chancellor consisting on the Controller of Examinations, Inspector of Colleges, I.T Manager, Director Admissions in order to bring transparency, regularity in the conduct of examinations, transparency in fees collection, redressal of grievances of the students and other stakeholders.

The second meeting was held with the Projects Director Works Engr. Ghulam Asghar Shaikh, Director Planning & Development Mr. Muhammad Hassan Halipoto, Director Technical Engr. Ghulam Mujtaba Abbasi and Executive Engineer Works Engr Faiz Muhammad Shaikh.

Engr. Ghulam Asghar Shaikh, Project Director (Works) briefed the Vice Chancellor that the academic block has been constructed with the generous support of Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. He mentioned that three R.O Plant Rooms have been constructed to provide the sweet water to the stakeholders and the fixing of barbered wiring is underway and the same will be completed within 15 days.

The Vice Chancellor directed the Director Technical Engr. Ghulam Mujtaba Abbasi and Executive Engineer Works Engr. Faiz Muhammad Shaikh to provide sweet water to the boys hostel.

On this occasion, Dr. Khalil Ibupoto directed the concerned officers to take measures for proper lighting arrangements and also directed the I.T Manager Syed Muneer Shah to take efforts for functioning of C.C.T.V Cameras and other gadgets. Dr. Ibupoto also directed Mr. Muhammad Hassan Halipoto, Director Planning & Development to prepare PC-I for new projects on the basis of need and also prepare PC-I for Sun sheds along with the dual carriage from Zero Point to Academic Block for students and visitors. The Vice Chancellor also directed Engr. Faiz Muhammad Shaikh to prepare working paper for the paver blocks, fifty solar pools, water tanks may be availed from the Deputy Commissioner, Khairpur.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor announced to establish Campus Management Cell in order to resolve the genuine problems timely at the campus premises.

The third meeting was held with the All Administrative Officers of the University regarding more improvement in their respective jurisdiction. The Administrative Officers assured the Vice Chancellor that they will render their duties with utmost devotion.

PROF. DR. KHALIL AHMED IBUPOTO DISTRIBUTED MEDIA EQUIPMENTS AMONG THE STUDENTS

A Media Equipments, Certificate and Shields Distribution Ceremony was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur presided over by Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by the Mehrdar Arts and Production (MAP) in collaboration with Department of Media & Communication Studies.

Speaking in the ceremony, Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto remarked that our students are self motivated, energetic and enthusiastic in pursuit of education and also participating in co-curricular activities. I am extremely happy that our students have prepared documentaries under the theme Stories of Sindh on different issues i.e. plight of education, health, environment, biodiversity, women empowerment and honor killing. As result, the students will embark their work practically in their field work.

Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Chairman, Department of Media & Communication Studies said that the Stories of Sindh was a program which seeks to encourage the youth. He said 12 documentaries were prepared during the project during the project that will promote constructive conversation and dialogue. This project is beneficial for the students of the Media & Communication Studies and other Departments of the Universities in their practical fields.

Mr. Muhammad Faheem Chief Executive Officer, Mehrdar Art Production briefed that 60 youth from Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Shikarpur and Jacobabad participated in the documentary an d film making based on positive narratives.

Mr. Munwar Ali Sarki, Project Manager, Mehrdar Art Production said, Mehrdar Art Production is working on positive reassurance and socially motivated content through documentaries, web series, festivals, social action projects. Mr. Sarki accorded special thanks to Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for gracing the ceremony and spared his precious time to distribute the media equipments among the youth.

Mr. Adeel Ahmed Shaikh and Ms. Zarpash Kali Project Officers District Khairpur also spoke on this occasion.

Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto Registrar accorded vote of thanks to the participants especially Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor and other guests attended the ceremony. He said, I am optimistic that future cooperation will remain continue in order to promote the healthy activities for youth building.

Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto handed over the media equipments, shield and certificates among the participants. A large number of students, civil society activist attended the ceremony.

MEETINGS HELD WITH THE ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE, INTERIM COMMITTE OF OWA AND PROVOST HOSTELS (BOYS & GIRLS)

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur chaired the various meetings at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur.

The first meeting was held with Admission Committee in order to review the admission process 2021. The meeting was attended by the Deans of all Faculties, I.T Manager and Director Admissions. Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Hussain Mahar, Convener Admission Committee briefed the Vice Chancellor that first ever online admission process has been initiated. The last date for the submission of online forms has been fixed up to 26th October 2020.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto stressed the need for the wide range publicity of admission process in order to admit large number of students by displaying banners on prominent places even at the degree level colleges. It was decided that weekly and fortnight meeting will be convened to monitor the admission process.

The second meeting was convened with the Interim Committee of the Officers Welfare Association (OWA). Engr. Ghulam Mujtaba Abbasi and Mr. Feroz Phulpoto, representative of the committee assured the Vice Chancellor that the officers of the University will render their services with utmost spirit and devotion because their duty is to serve the institution for its public delivery in befitting manner.

The Vice Chancellor said, I firmly believe in truth and discipline. He said structural and administrative reforms will be taken in the interest of the institution and public at large. Proper person will be placed at proper place to serve the institution diligently. The genuine problems will be resolved as per University code inline with the rules and regulations.

The third meeting was held with the Provost Hostels (Boys & Girls). Dr. Syed Baqir Ali Shah, Provost Hostels (Boys) and Prof. Shahida Mangi, Provost Hostel (Girls) briefed the Vice Chancellor about problems pertaining with the both sections. They briefed the Vice Chancellor that there is shortage of accommodation to accommodate the students and there is need of deployment of Police Force to maintain peace, law and order at the hostels.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto assured the Hostels Administration that maintenance of law and order situation is my top priority and main concern. The Police Force and Rangers will be deployed in order to maintain law and order. Dr. Ibupoto advised that on the basis of public private partnership, the hostels may be constructed in order to accommodate the students. He ordered that the allotment of Hostels may be made on the criteria of distance so the students of the remote areas may be accommodated.
