144TH BIRTHDAY OF DR. IQBAL CELEBRATED AT SHAH ABDUL LATIF UNIVERSITY, KHAIRPUR AND SHAHDADOT CAMPUS
The 144th Birthday of Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal was celebrated at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur was jointly organized by the Institute of International Relations, Department of Pakistan Studies, Department of Political Science and Institute of Islamic Studies in collaboration with Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai.
Dr. Sajjad Ali Raeesi, Director Institute of Islamic Studies Shah was the keynote speaker at the occasion. He said that Dr. Iqbal remained an outstanding appealing figure of human plight and peace in all times.
Mr. Sarfaraz Ali Korejo,Charter President Rotary Club Khairpur said Dr Iqbal's vision is the vision of Peace, tolerance , Interfaith Harmony Inclusiveness and humanism. Rotary would support every initiative and program to encapsulate and empower the youth with the work of Dr Iqbal.
Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Buledi, Mr. Ishrat Ali Mirani, Student Advisor, Dr. Inayatullah Bhatti, Incharge, Department of Pakistan Studies, Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio and Mr. Javed Ali Lakho also spoke on this occasion. They said Iqbal is the architect of Pakistan and we must transform his philosophy to our next generations. They said that Iqbal's doctrine of Khuddi is the real and soul purpose of education. Higher education institutions and other organizations must strive to disseminate the work of Dr Iqbal. They enlightened the various aspects of Dr. Iqbal’s life needs to be researched by our students as a mandatory for the award of degree programs.
They remarked that the untiring efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto are highly commendable for the youth empowerment. They appreciated the endeavor of Vice Chancellor for organizing such national event at University to remember the political, poetic and philosophical services rendered by Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal as Poet of East.
The Cake cutting ceremony was also held. The event was attended by a large number of teachers and students.
Meanwhile, an Extension Lecture on Dr. Allama Iqbal was also organized at Shahdadkot Campus. Prof. Najmul Hassan was the keynote speaker.
Prof. Najmul Hassan said Iqbal is not only the poet of East but a great Philosopher and Scholar who advocates action, vigilance, self reliance and belief in one’s self among the youngsters. Poetry of Iqbal guides our youth for character building and social development. He said Dr. iqbal emphasizes upon action, self discovery, self negation, creativity and love for human beings in his poetry and philosophy.
Principal of the Campus Mr. Muhammad Ibrahim Khokhar told that Dr. Iqbal was a visionary political leader, poet and a true philosopher of his time. He foresaw the plight of Indian Muslims and advocated the case for separate homeland.
On this occasion students recited the verses of Allama Iqbal and paid homage to Dr. Iqbal.

EXTENSION LECTURE ON IQBAL DAY

Iqbal is not only the poet of East but a great Philosopher and Scholar who advocates action, vigilance, self reliance and belief in one’s self among the youngsters. Poetry of Iqbal guides our youth for character building and social development. This was the message of scholars delivering their talks on Iqbal Day celebrated at Shahdadkot Campus of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur on November 9, 2021. The event was presided over by the Principal of the Campus Muhammad Ibrahim Khokhar whereas; Prof. Najamul Hassan was the keynote speaker. The event was celebrated by the Department of English under the patronage of Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Chandan Lal Rohra. Prof. Najamul Hassan in his detailed and comprehensive lecture shed light on different aspects of Iqblal’s poetry. He told that Iqbal emphasizes upon action, self discovery, self negation, creativity and love for human beings in his poetry. He informed the students about Iqbal’s greatest message of Khudi and self exploration.

Principal Muhammad Ibrahim Khokhar told that Iqbal was a visionary poet and a true philosopher of his time. He foresaw the plight of Indian Muslims and advocated the case for separate homeland. Pakistan today is the realization of the dream of Iqbal and the result of countless sacrifices of the people of this area. Prof. Chandan Lal the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the campus appreciated the efforts of faculty members and students of the Department of English Shahdadkot Campus and told that the campus will regularly arrange such events to create awareness and national spirit among the students. He also lauded the poetic excellence of Allama Iqbal. On this occasion students recited the verses of Allama Iqbal and paid homage to his genius.

THE 68TH MEETING OF ASRB OF SHAH ABDUL LATIF UNIVERSITY, KHAIRPUR HELD

The 68th Meeting of Advance Studies & Research Board (ASRB) of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur was held at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat. The meeting was presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto.

At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said we are committed to promote the quality research culture and innovation at this institution. He said, since my joining the office as Vice Chancellor, we have taken various drastic measures through consultation, feedback and coordination. Recently, with the dynamic approach of my team we have got approval from the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad regarding the halted programs for the Postgraduate Studies in various disciplines. Dr. Ibupoto said research has great importance in the society because research has direct relation with the society and society is benifited in multilateral way.

The Members of ASRB commended the untiring and dynamic efforts of Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto in streamlining the institution in term of quality, transparency and merit. They said that the Vice Chancellor is striving in right direction to make the Institution as a viable Institution.

During the meeting, the Minutes of the last Meeting of ASRB were approved. The 8 Research Supervisors and Co-Supervisors for M.S, M. Phil and Ph. D were approved. 87 Research Synopsis were also approved. 10 Ph. D Degrees and 136 M.S/M. Phil Degrees were recommended to be awarded by the Academic Council. The extension of research period of the 85 scholars was also approved by the ASRB.

Earlier, Prof. Dr. Iram Rani, Director, Quality Enhancement Cell briefed the house regarding the status of the various programs which were halted by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad. She apprised that with the untiring efforts of Vice Chancellor, in view of the compliance report M.S, M. Phil and Ph. D Program were reviewed and revisited by HEC, Islamabad and were cleared from halted status.

The proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Director Postgraduate Studies.

DIWALI DAY CELEBRATED AT SALU 

 
Diwali Day was jointly celebrated by Institute of International Relations, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur & Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai in the back drop of Four Days Training Workshop held at Lahore by Inter University Consortium for the Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS). Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of the Social Sciences was the chief guest while Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar was guest of honor.
 
Talking at the occasion, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari said that Diwali is the festival of Peace, Tolerance, Interfaith Harmony, Inclusiveness and human plight. As per the vision of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmad Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, it is our obligation to celebrate such days of dignified festival.
 
Further talking at the fest, Dr. Lashari highly acknowledged the role of Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai for partnering in the peace pursuits . He said other organization especially IUCPSS is doing the signature projects at University for promoting the culture of Peace, Tolerance and Interfaith Harmony. 
 
Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto said that the day of Diwali is coinciding with the vision of Vice Chancellor & leadership is striving for the every possible posture to create an environment of Peace on campus and in society through its dynamic faculty, officers, staffers and proud students.
 
Prof. Dr. Amir Ali Chandio also spoke on this occasion and commended the efforts of Institute of I.R & Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai for celebrating the event as a gesture of Peace and solidarity with our brothers and sisters celebrating the holy ritual.
 
Dr. Liaquat Ali Chandio, Director Institute of International Relations warmly welcomed the guests and participants of event .
 
Charter President Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai Sarfaraz Ali Korejo offered his full cooperation and support to University under the blessed leadership of Dr Khalil Ahmad Ibupoto.
 
A large number of the Directors, Chairmen, Chairpersons, Incharges of Institutes and Departments of Faculty of Social Sciences, Officers and Students graced the ceremony of cake cutting and reiterated to work for the promotion of human values.
