MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNED BETWEEN SHAH ABDUL LATIF UNIVERSITY, KHAIRPUR AND KARABUK UNIVERSITY, TURKEY

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Karabuk University, Turkey. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur and Prof. Dr. Refik POLAT, Rector Karabuk University, Turkey signed the MoU.

The purpose of this MoU is exchange of scholars, joint research projects, teaching and supervision of students, participation in workshop and conference. The MoU also aimed at to exchange of the students, participation of students in study abroad programs hosted by each institution.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto appreciated the hospitality extended by the Rector of Karabuk University, Turkey. He said this MoU will foster the academic linkage, cooperation and capacity building of Faculty Members and Students of the both countries. Dr. Ibupoto apprised that Karabuk University, Turkey has given commitment and assurance to exempt the fees of the students of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur who are interested to get their admissions in B.S, M.S/M. Phil and Ph. D Programs respectively. Dr. Ibupoto decorated the Rector Karabuk University with Sindhi Traditional Ajrak and Cap as part of good will gesture on behalf of Pakistani tradition.

Prof. Dr. Refik POLAT appreciated the efforts of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for his untiring efforts for the promotion of education, research and innovation at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. He said Pakistan and Turkey possess friendly and bilateral relations on different fields particularly for the promotion of education and capacity building of the students. Dr. Refik applauded the good will gesture of Dr. Ibupoto.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto also interacted with the Pakistani Students shared with them about  meeting held with Rector of Karabuk University and also shared his ideas and experiences regarding teaching and administrative services. 

SALU CLINCHED TWO SILVER MEDALS IN PRIME MINISTER’S KAMYAB JAWAN SPORTS DRIVE
Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur clinched Two Silver Medals and Cash of Rs. 30,.000/- in Athletics Race of 800 Meters and 1500 Meters in Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive held at Liaquat Gymnasium, Islamabad. Mr. Faisal Tabassum, Student of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur who won the Two Silver Medals and Cash Prize. It is recalled that 110 Universities of Pakistan participated in Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive. Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Director Physical Education, Mr. Taj Muhammad Mahar and Mr. Arshad Saeed Coaches of University’s Athletes Boys team were present
Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor has extended felicitation to Mr. Faisal Tabassum and Director Physical Education Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada and his team for winning two medals and cash prize. On this occasion, Dr. Ibupoto said Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur aheading in curricular and co-curricular activities at national and international level. We are committed to provide conducive and congenial environment for the students so the shine their talent in positive and healthy activities.
SPEECH CONTEST HELD ON THE EVE OF INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
In a bid to commemorate the International Human Rights Day, a Speech Contest held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by the Department of Political Science on the theme “Universal Declaration of Human Rights.” Prof. Dr. Amir Ali Chandio, Chairman Department of Political Science presided the event.
Prof. Dr. Amir Ali Chandio shed light on the significance of Human Rights. He said the Human Rights are the fundamental rights which the civilized society provides to the people so the peace and progress could be availed. He said it is imperative to respect the human dignity and welfare at large for the betterment of citizens and tolerant society.
Ms. Shahida Amir Chandio accorded vote of thanks. She said this day is being celebrated on 10 December every year in line with the principles of United Nations since 1948.
The speakers of the contest stressed the need to adhere the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in letter and spirit so the human being could survive in peaceful, democratic norms and values without any discrimination and biases.
Mr. Babar Ali Arain (BS P-IV), Mr. Muhammad Umar Jagirani (BS P-II) and Mr. Amjad Ali Sargani (BS P-II) secured first, second and third position respectively.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Rahpoto, Chairman Department of Economics, Dr. Inayatullah Bhatti, Incharge Department of Pakistan Studies and Mr. Sajid Soomro were the judges of the event.
Prof. Dr. Amir Hussain Shar, Dr. Noor Hussain Chandio, Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Dr. Masihullah Jatoi, Dr. Rehman Gul Gilal, Mr. Aijaz Ali Shaikh, Mr. Ali Nawaz Soomro, Mr. Irshad Ali Wassan, Mr. Akhlaque Ahmed Larik and large number of teachers and students attended the event.
AWARENESS WALK HELD ON THE EVE OF INTERNATIONAL ANTI-CORRUPTION DAY AT SALU
An Awareness Walk in order to commemorate the International Anti-Corruption Day in line with the collaboration of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sukkur was held at Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur organized by Character Building Society (CBC). Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Dean Faculty of Arts & Languages on behalf of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar, Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences and Chief Patron CBC SALU Chapter, Mr. Mureed Hussain Ibupoto, Registrar led the walk. The walk started from the Main Gate of the Administration Block and it culminated at Central Library of the University.
Talking to the participants of the walk, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori said that it is our collective responsibility to fight against the menace of corruption from the society because teacher is a role model to teach the students about the ethical values. He appreciated the contribution of the Vice Chancellor for bringing transparency and accountability at the University. He remarked that NAB has recovered hefty amounts from the plunders.
Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari remarked that the efforts of NAB are highly commendable to stamp out the corruption, nepotism and irregularities in our country. The efforts of NAB are applauded in bringing the transparency and try to root out the practices of embezzlement, corruption in the society. Students are the agent of change; definitely youth will play their dynamic role in the eradication of corruption free Pakistan. He said that our faith is corruption free Pakistan. He said corruption has damaged the national fabric.
Mr. Ali Raza Lashari also shared his views and conducted the proceedings of the walk.
