ALL PAKISTAN INTER-UNIVERSITY TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIP-2022 INAUGURATED
All Pakistan Inter-University Taekwondo Championship-2022 organized by the Sports Section, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur in collaboration with Higher Education Commission, Islamabad inaugurated at University. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur inaugurated the Championship at Syed Qaim Ali Shah Sports Complex of University.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto remarked that Taekwondo was started in the wake of 1940s and 1950s by various Korean Martial Artists as a blend of the indigenous Korean fighting method with influence from foreign martial arts, i.e. karate and Chinese martial arts. He said we are committed to provide the better and possible sports facilities to our students. He maintained that the essence of peace through sports may be promoted which could provide a healthy competition at campus. Dr. Ibupoto lauded the efforts of Higher Education Commission for the promotion of sports culture at the Universities.
Prof. Dr. Syed Baqir Ali Shah, Chairman Sports Section briefed the Vice Chancellor about the sports activities conducted by the Sports Section of the University. He also welcomed the Vice Chancellor and Officials of the Guests Teams.
On the first day of Championship, University of Central Punjab, Lahore secured first, University of Lahore secured and Lahore Garrison University secured third position.
In this championship, the teams of University of Karachi, Superior University, Lahore, The Islamia University, Bahawalpur, Hazara University, Mansehra, University of Management & Technology, Lahore, University of Punjab, Lahore, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology & Skills Development, Khairpur, National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Lahore, Khuwaja Ghulam Farid University, Rahim Yar Khan, Bannu University of Science & Technology, Bannu, Government College University, Lahore and host Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur are participating.
Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Ali Junejo, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Qasid Hussain Mallah, Dean Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Hussain Mahar, Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Prof. Dr. Ikhtiar Ali Ghumro, Prof. Dr. Amir Hussain Shar, Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Jakhrani, Prof. Dr. Iram Rani, Prof. Dr. Hissamuddin Shaikh, Mr. Muhammad Murad Pirzada, Director Physical Education, Mr. Ghulam Mujtaba Jatoi, Deputy Director Physical Education, Mr. Taj Muhammad Mahar, Sports Officer and others attended the inaugural ceremony.
The technical support was extended by Sindh Taekwondo Association and Pakistan Taekwondo Federation and especially the efforts of Col. Waseem are highly commendable.
PRE ARRANGEMENT MEETING FOR THE CONDUCT OF PRE-ENTRY TEST-2022
A Pre-Arrangement Meeting for the peaceful, congenial and conducive conduct of Pre-Entry Test-2022 was held at Vice Chancellor Secretariat, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the meeting.
Talking to the participants of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto maintained that the Pre-Entry Test-2022 will be conducted on Tuesday 11 January 2022 for the fresh batch of B.S Part-I and B.S Part-III respectively. The Vice Chancellor remarked that the conduct of centralized admission test aimed at to maintain the discipline and transparency. The Vice Chancellor sought the progress report from the relevant committees for the conduct of the Entry Test.
The Conveners and Members of the various committees apprised the Vice Chancellor that foolproof security arrangements have been made for the peaceful, congenial and conducive conduct of Pre-Entry Test. The overall arrangements were reviewed during the meeting.
Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto felt entire satisfaction over the arrangements made for the conduct of Pre-Entry Test in befitting manner.
It was decided that the Pre-Entry Test will be conducted at the Central Lawn of the Main Administration Block. The eligible candidates will download their admit slips from University website www.salu.edu.pk . Meanwhile, the admit slips will also be available at the eastern side of the Habib Bank SALU Branch. The parents of the appearing candidates will be seated at the University Model School. It was decided that entry of the candidates will be allowed only from the Main Gate having admit slips. The outsiders will not be allowed to enter in the University premises. Wherein, all the hostels will remain closed. It was also decided that all the Faculty Members, .S and Teaching Assistants will perform their invigilation duties mandatory on day of test. The test will start on 11:00 am to 12:00 Noon.

RECEPTION HOSTED IN HONOR OF PROF. DR. GHULAM ABBAS SHAR
A Farewell Reception was hosted by the Vice Chancellor Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto in the honor of Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar on attaining his age of superannuation as Professor.
Speaking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said the academic, research and administrative services of Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar are highly commendable. He performed his duties with devotion and commitment. The Vice Chancellor remarked that he always guided me in the strengthening the academic and research culture at the University. He remained a good member of my team. Dr. Ibupoto said the retirement is the part of the life. I am optimistic that Dr. Shar will continue his research activities for the benefit of community and nation.

They said. Dr. Shar is a dedicated professor produced sizeable number of Ph. D Scholars. He is polite person, his attitude remained friendly with colleagues and students. Dr. Shar is versatile personality and soft spoken person. He encouraged the students in their pursuit of academic excellence. Dr. Shar remained helping hand to guide the students.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar said my first career started as Lecturer in the Chemistry subject at the Govt. Degree College, Moro. I taught with dedication and commitment to the students. He said I strengthened the Department of Chemistry by providing scientific equipments. He said I believe in proficiency. I remained the first Director ORIC. I earned different research projects as result University’s image developed academically. He appreciated the untiring efforts of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor for promoting academic, research and development of University. The efforts of Vice Chancellor are remarkable for bringing the culture of merit and transparency.
A large number of teachers and research scholars attended the reception.
