The Controller of Examinations, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur Mr. Muhammad Hassan Halipoto has announced that the Annual Examinations 2020 of B.A, B. Sc, B. Sc (Home Economics), B. Com, Associate Degree in Arts, Associate Degree in Science, Associate Degree in Commerce Part-I and M.A (Previous) All subjects will start from tomorrow i.e. Saturday September 18, 2021 at all the affiliated Degree Colleges with Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur at Sukkur and Larkana regions.
The admit slips of the appearing candidates and timetable is available at designated Examination Centers. The candidates are advised to appear in the Examinations as per timetable.
Two Ph. D Open Defense Seminars were held in the Department of Sindhi, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur presided over by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto.
Research Scholar Mr. Abdul Latif Ansari delivered his Ph. D on the topic "A Critical and Research Analysis of Literary Contribution of Rasheed Bhatti" under the supervision of Prof (Retd.) Dr. Adal Soomro. Mr. Abdul Latif Ansari said that role of Late Rasheed Bhatti in literary criticism in Sindhi Language is very important, he gave inputs to the contemporary original thoughts through his creative literally criticism. He provided first hand information related to many persons and personalities including laywars, writers, politicians and social workers. As writer Rasheed Bhatti was a towering personality.
The second Ph. D Seminar was delivered by Ms. Aisha Hassan Dharejo on the topic"Research and Critical Analysis of Women Problems in Sindhi Short Stories" under the supervision of Prof (Retd.) Dr. Adal Soomro. She said that literature is the soul of human life. In the beginning of 20th century, short stories were refined by the prominent writers Mal Persoram, Amar Lal Hingorjani, Mirza Qaleech Baig and others. I have assessed the political, social and economic status of society. The traditions and sufism, federalism and capitalism have been reviewed. My research work has also highlighted the past and present periods short stories for Women's problem whereas injustices are committed with the women have been analyzed in my research work.
While delivering his presidential address the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that literature is an integral part of the society which reflects the culture, civilization, arts, music, calligraphy. Late Rasheed Bhatti was a man of letter, he contributed lot in the promotion of Sindhi literature. He contributed in the writing of fiction, columns, his literary services will be remembered for long period.
Dr. Ibupoto said that research work of the Ms. Aisha Hassan Dharejo is up to the mark. She has shed light on the problems of women in Sindhi Short Stories. Dr. Ibupoto remarked that the work of both scholars will be value added in the Sindhi literature. We are committed to provide a viable platform for embarking research at campus.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages said that we are promoting the research culture in the Faculty of Arts and Languages on modern yardstick and parameters and encouraging the scholars to complete their research work within their stipulated time.
Prof. (Retd.) Dr. Adal Soomro, Dr. Anwar Figar Hakro and Dr. Inayat Laghari also spoke on this occasion and appreciated the work of the research scholars. They said the Sindhi literature is rich historically. The contribution of both Scholars will be positive addition in the Sindhi literature.
Both Open Defense Seminars were declared as successful. Dr. Naveed Ahmed Shaikh, Director Postgraduate Studies conducted the proceedings of the Seminars.

Research Scholar Mr. Ibrahim Kharal defended his Ph. D research on the topic "Critical Analysis of Naseem Kharal's Stories under the supervision of Prof. (Retd.) Dr. Adal Soomro. Mr. Ibrahim Kharal said that Naseem Kharal was the prominent writer of Sindhi prose and story. He was a renowned Sindhi story writer, he has portrayed the real Sindhi society and written short stories on the indigenous characters. In his stories he has pinpointed the various negative traditions prevailing at that time i.e Honor Killing and Exploitation based Society.
The second Ph. D Open Defense Seminar was delivered by Mr. Ateequllah Memon under the supervision of Prof Dr. Adal Soomro on the topic " Status of Sindhi Language during the British Rule". He said Sindhi is an ancient language which flourished in the British Rule. The Sindhi Language reached at the highest zenith. The British Rulers collected Sindhi diction, they focused on research, wrote books and published them. There is an impact of English Language on Sindhi. British era also exhibits that the British Rulers patronized Sindhi script, literature, poetry and language.
Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor in his presidential address said that Ph. D research work is the outcome of indepth research work carried out by the Scholars either in Science or Arts because it is a novel work based on the ideas and innovation of scholarly work. Dr. Ibupoto remarked that research work of both scholars will be benefited in the field of Sindhi language and literature. He also appreciated the untiring efforts of Research Supervisor, Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages in the promotion of research culture.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Dean Faculty of Arts and Languages said that the both Scholars have delivered public defense inline with the HEC's minimum eligibility criteria. The work of scholars will be value added for the future scholars.
Prof. (Retd.) Dr. Adal Soomro, Dr. Ishaque Samejo, Dr. Anwar Figar Hakro, Dr. Bashir Fayaz Chandio appreciated the research work of the both Scholars. They said research activities are essential and positive activities at the Campus in order to embark the research. They also commended the keen interest of Vice Chancellor in the development of research and innovation at University. Despite hectic engagement, he remained present in the Seminars and presided the Open Defense.

A Cheque Distribution Ceremony of Pensinary Benefits of Retired Faculty Members, Officers and Employees was held at Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur. The Cheques of amount of Rs. 230 Million were distributed among the cheque recipients regarding their pensionary benefits. Prof . Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the ceremony and gave away the Cheques.
Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto accorded his especial complements and thanks to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Secretary Universities and Boards Department for sanction of such first ever huge amount to Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur.
Dr. Ibupoto said that the pensionary benefits were due and pending from 2017. He remarked that with the untiring efforts and continuous support we achieved this milestone. He also appreciated the efforts of Registrar and Directorate of Finance for the preparation of cases of pensionary benefits. He said the long pending issue of pensionary benefits of the retired staff has been resolved.
Dr. Ibupoto said it is the prime duty of all stakeholders of University to work hard for the soft image building of University. I firmly believe in merit, transparency and adhering my policies in the spirit of University Code.
On this occasion, Prof. (Retd.) Dr. Ghulam Sarwar Markhand, President Retired Employees, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Mr. Nisar Ahmed Noonari, Director Finance, Mr. Farhan Latif Memon, President Officer Welfare Association, Mr. Qalandar Bux Bozdar President Employees Welfare Association also spoke on this occasion. They lauded the commendable efforts of Prof Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto for availing the pensionary benefits for retired employees of the University. The credit goes to Vice Chancellor who pursued the case properly and approached to the relavant forums. They said it is the day of happiness and rejoice for retired employees because their unprecedented delayed financial problem has been resolved. They said that this is the land mark event will be remembered in the annul of history.
