A One-Day Seminar on "In-Pond Raceways System (IPRS) Technology, Innovative Solution for Sustainable Commercial Agriculture in Pakistan" was held at Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur organized by the Department of Zoology in collaboration with Higher Education Commission's Technology Development Fund. Prof. Dr. Syed Maqsood Zia Shah, Pro- Vice Chancellor Ghotki Campus presided over the seminar. 
 
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Syed Maqsood Zia Shah said that the Fish is an important food in daily life. It is an imperative that Fish production could be improved with the help of latest techniques so we could eran local as well as foreign exchequer. It is need of the hour that the collaborative research may be embarked for the progressive production of the Fish. 
 
Dr. Maqsood Zia commended the untiring efforts of Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor for the capacity building of the Faculty Members and students at the Campus. 
 
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Shar, Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences shed light on the significance of Fish production and the various issues pertains to growers. He said that the progressive farmers, Fishries Department could play their due role for the farming of Fish. 
 
Mr. Muhammad Aslam Ansari, Deputy Director Fishries said Fish is main source of our food. It is very essential that we could promote the farming of Fish in agriculture sector so we could also earn exchequer for the better economy of our country. 
 
Resource Person of the Seminar Dr. Shafaq Fatima from RSN Janjua Industrial Partner and Associate Professor of Lahore College of Women University remarked that with the help of Pond Raceways System Technology and with the help of limited land, we could save the water resources because we are facing water scarcity.
 
Earlier, Prof. Dr. Abdul Manan Shaikh briefed the objectives of the Seminar. He said the recommendations of the Seminar will be presented to the policy makers so we could achieve the required targets pertaining to the Fish production in the country. 
 
The proceedings of the Seminar were conducted by Dr. Safdar Ali Ujjan. 
 
A large number of teachers, research scholars and students attended the Seminar.
