The Spokesperson of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur has announced that after conducive and compact dialogue held between the representatives of Employees Welfare Association (EWA) and Negotiation Committee constituted by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, the talks were successfully held. The remaining problems of the Employees were resolved/decided as under.
The remaining 50% difference of enhanced salary will be disbursed on 24 December, 2021. The 35% Leave Encashment will be disbursed on 4 February 2022. It was decided that the salary of Daily Wages Employees at the rate of Rs. 25,000 will be placed at the Syndicate at par with the University of Sindh, Jamshoro and in view of the Govt. of Sindh’s Notification and or the evidences of notifications issued by the other Universities if any. It was decided that the case of award of 2 higher grades to various employees will be placed in the Syndicate in the light of notification of Finance Department, Govt. of Pakistan and Govt. of Sindh respectively. The matter of higher grades to Chowkidars will be placed before the Syndicate for approval. The cases of Adhoc Employees/Diseased Quota will be confirmed after getting work and conduct report from the various sections up to 1 January 2022. 5 Real Heirs of Diseased Employees will be appointed up to 1st Week of January 2022. It was decided that the meeting of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) will be called on 3rd January 2022. That the case of permanent appointment of Daily Wages Employees working since 2007, 2008 and 2009 will be placed in the Syndicate. Part time to the Drivers of Transport Section will be allowed on the basis of need of the Transport Section on the recommendation of Senior Transport Officer. The case of the higher grades to Malhis will be placed in the Syndicate for amendment in policy for consideration. The cadres of Bus Conductor will be changes as per their qualification as Clerks will be placed in Review Committee and Syndicate. The risk allowance to 4 Sweepers will be awarded on the recommendation of their sectional heads. It was decided that the case of Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Solangi will be considered in the next meeting of DPC on 3rd January 2022. That case of Medical Health Insurance Policy recommendations will be placed before the Syndicate. The Up gradation of Clerks at ratio of 60/40 from BPS-11 to BPS-14 will be considered as per policy of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro through Syndicate. Rs. 2,000 as Jersey Allowance was allowed to all Employees of Class IV.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Dean Faculty of Arts & Languages, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences/Convener of Negotiation Committee, Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Prof. Dr. Mushtaque Jakhrani, Mr Zulfiqar Ali Shaikh, Deputy Registrar Admn, while the Representatives of EWA Mr. Latif Dino Phulpoto, Mr. Abdul Rahim Chandio, Mr. Sanaullah Mahar, Mr. Rajib Ali Chandio and Mr. Younis Gilal participated in the negotiations. On the directives and approval of the Vice Chancellor the 17th Notifications were handed over to Mr. Muhammad Aslam Ghumro, General Secretary, EWA. It is recalled that most of the Notifications have been implemented.
After successful dialogues, the EWA called off their strike. The office bearers of EWA commended the unwavering moral and legal support of the Vice Chancellor and Negotiation Team for the resolution of their genuine demands.
