An International Day of Peace was jointly celebrated at Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur by Institute of International Relations and Rotary Club, Khairpur and Karachi Creek. Prof. Dr Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences presided over the event on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto. Prof. Dr. Ameer Ahmed Khuhro,Director Institute of International Relations & Charter President of Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai, Rtn. Sarfaraz Ali Korejo were the distinguished guests of Honour .

In his presidential address Prof Dr Taj Muhammad Lashari assured that every possible step would be taken in achieving the peace in its physical and emotional shapes . He lauded the efforts of Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai and Karachi Creek for beginning the pace of prosperity and peace through gifting the hygiene stuff in making campus very neat and clean with nomenclature of environmental friendly prescribed norms by global society.

Talking on the occasion Prof. Dr Ameer Ahmed Khuhro Director Institute of International Relations thanked Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai and Karachi Creek to partner with Discipline of Peace and Conflict Studies . He stressed the students and faculty to work with the Rotary and prove real change makers of society.

Mr Korejo welcomed the guests and briefed the audience about the magic, power & impact of Rotary in human life especially higher education .He deeply appreciated the vision of Worthy Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur Professor Dr Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto & his dynamic team for empowering the society through knowledge and skills based education especially the marginalised sections of society .

Muhammad Yousuf Kurio, Area Manager , Sindh Bank Khairpur also spoke on the occasion & stressed students to explore the Sufi teachings of Islam and it's saint like Shah Abdul Latif.

Senior Rotarian Zaheer Ahmed Soomro paid the vote of thanks.

Finally a cake cutting ceremony was gracefully taken joined by a big number of faculty, students to commemorate International Peace Day.

The event ended with peace walk with group photo followed by a networking high tea by Rotary Club Khairpur Bhittai .
